Non-Australians who have seen this, what did you think of the film? Particularly the final half hour - did it make sense or was it just a bunch of weird rubbish? I thought the opening was great and I loved the scenes towards the end in Mick's lair but also wondered whether you had to be an Aussie to get anything out of it.. What did you non-Aussies think?

The ending was not very good to me as an American.

Mick eats people, and something that crazy is usually the underlying motivation for murder. I mean, he needs to eat human flesh... where do you get that.. you kill people. So you pick people like tourists backpacking in the middle of nowhere who won't be reported as missing for quite a while. That actually makes sense and fits with the insane-but-smart serial killer image.

But the end of the movie strongly implies that his motivation is that he hates foreigners. And, oh, as a side thought he also eats them after he kills them. That doesn't make sense to me.

Now he could have been doing all that "You don't know me! You don't know where I come from!" ranting just to screw with the guy, since Mick knew Paul was English and that would play into England's colonization-guilt stuff. I mean I know that intellectually but I didn't *feel* it in the movie. That could be something I miss because I'm not Australian or English. Further evidence for this is that Paul knew the answers, since he was coincidentally a history major, and that was just a display of his superiority over Mick since he was beating him at his own game. Pretty typical guilt stuff for the audience and the character.

On the other hand, if the overview text at the end of the movie is right and this is based on the story of an actual person (Paul), who actually was a history major, then it could be the writer's way of screwing with us. What a coincidence that this serial killer started asking Paul history questions that he knew. It makes it seem like Paul's story is made up (because you invent the details of elaborate lies based on what you know) and that maybe he was involved with those murders he was accused of.

That would also be something I'm not familiar with as a non-Australian. I have no idea if this case was popular over there and if lots of people are like "Oh yeah Paul was definitely guilty and he got away with it." If that's the case, that would be really obviously intended in the writing.

Thinking about all of this, I have to admit that not knowing more of Australian perspective on the movie had a big effect on my understanding of the movie. My lack of knowledge combined with kind of unclear/unbelievable motivations of the characters leaves me with lots of questions.

Where exactly did you get the cannibalism thing from? There is no evidence to support this at all. None of the bodies in his lair towards the end show signs of being consumed. He is a psychopath who tortures and kills (backpackers) people. The character is based on Ivan Millat (google it).

I agree.
Also, I can't see Mick bragging about eating a liver with fava beans and a nice Chianti.

I'm an arab and i thought Wolf Creek II was entertaining, thrilling, darkly humorous and an unpredictable sequel to a classic. Worthy of a watch or two. With that said, any thoughts i had about going to the Australian outback was scratched after watchin this movie.

I liked Ryan Corr's acting and he was nice to look at.

I'm an American, I thought it was strange; and I have to say this, Paul was pretty lucky that he wasn't an American because Mick probably would've had all of his damned fingers sawed off!

American here.

The final quarter or so if the movie was completely boring and convoluted to me. Only good part of it was watching defenseless and hunky Paul.

I really wish there was a way to *beep* blacklist foreign movies from my Netflix.

American and I love the Wolf Creek movies!

As a foreigner, who happens to love Mad Max: Road Warrior as much as Aussies do, I like everything that has to do with Australian outback except for this obnoxious redneck bastard who somehow, is still alive.

After the first movie, I felt depressed that no one actually killed the prick.
Now I'm just hoping he dies in the final chapter. Why?
Because he's just a cliche.

You'll find uneducated, racist *beep* over in my land as well. Plenty more, actually. And that's the one thing I hate more above all else: racism.

Oh, and I plan of visiting Australia soon.

I am American and i enjoyed both movies... I mean, they are well made but sort of don't feel very satisfying because everyone dies except the male lead and the killer walks away.

I'm British and I got it. I even knew the Donald Bradman answer as I have a cricket-mad other half. Lol.

Canadian. It really took the horror aspect away when they were drinking and singing. Though the whole movie sadly wasnt much of a horror movie like the first. Movie was meh. Not great, but not disappointed I watched it either.

Liked the first one a lot though and hoping for a return to form if there is a third.

Also, I had the kangaroo song stuck in my head the day after lol.
