A good movie until the maniac lived in the end

I don't always require the 'bad guy' to get his in the end, especially as it's obvious the film makers are more interested in the killer than they are his victims - although to be fair the young German couple's characters are quite well developed and portrayed. What I'm most likely to give low marks for are for being routinely unoriginal, lavishing extra care on the gory fx, to the detriment of any possibility for lifting it above the ordinary and having as stereotyped a lead performance as you'll find anywhere. So I rate
Wolf Creek 2, 4 with points mainly for some attempts at decent performances from the supporting cast and the cinematography.

Spoiler warning in the title next time please. Not the ending of the film!

First, probably remove the ending of the movie from the heading as a courtesy for those who haven't seen it.

Second, unlike the first movie, I hated the "hero" so I was okay with Mick walking away. The German couple who were likeable should have been the main protagonists (IMO of course).

If the bad guy were always to die at the end, there would never be the need for "Spoiler Alerts". There would also never be any surprises, which would take away a lot of the point in watching anything.

Have you watched the 1st Halloween? (SPOILER ALERT) Do you think it's a poor movie because MIchael Myers walks away?

Also, if you think about it, "Bad" is relative. Sure, Mick kills, kidnaps and tortures every now and then ... But do you remember how the German backpacker loses his temper and starts cursing when the jeep doesn't stop for them? That's not very nice. They also have sex in the tent and are probably not married. As for the British backpacker, he's traveling by himself, without his girlfriend, that's a bit selfish. And when the old couple offer him lunch, he forgets to thank them. This is not very nice either, so maybe Mick is a divine punisher, and these youngsters all had it coming?

For all the guys who complain about spoilers, how about don't come here in the first place? It's fairly obvious that this section is for discussions regarding the movie, so there will be spoilers. You have to be a *beep* moron to come here, and then lament that the movie was spoiled for you.
