Anyone else liked it more than the first one?

The problem I had with the first Machete was the fact that it had some serious parts and somewhat a social commentary. This one was pure ridiculousness and this is exactly what for me Machete stands for. Everything was spot on IMO. The bad acting, the ultracheesiness, the strap on gun, the god awful cgi.

this felt like a machete film, where the first felt like a el mariachi film starring machete.

This is what I wanted the original Machete to be. Pure, over-the-top, ridiculousness and I loved every minute of it!

Yeah, count me among the folks who liked MK more than M. I mean, it's all subjective, to each his or her own, but the first film, though enjoyable, struck me as a little labored in places -- a little too authentic grindhouse . This one went straight self-aware, over the top from the gitgo.

I hope MKIS gets made.

I did like this one more than the first.
More over-the-top and hilarious action, more killings, more fun, great one-liners, a few better actors.

Yeah, I prefered Machete Kills as well. This kind of movie excel the more OTT it is, and as such it was definitely an improvement over the first.

I preferred this one. I didn't care for the pro-illegal immigrant crap from the first one (though, granted, it came from a film which didn't take itself seriously, so it didn't bother me much), but this one abandoned any social commentary and went all-in on fun, which is what I wanted. Also Mel Gibson was awesome. Say what you will about him as a person, but he's an excellent actor.

Agree, he was terrific. The whole Road Warrior spoof was funny. I liked this one better too. Amber was so fun to watch too. Depp is lucky!

And Mel for 60 years has been a great guy, except for 2 times, he's given more money to help children with deformities and help cancer patients that can't afford it, than you can imagine. He's apologized out the ars publicly and privately.
