Danny Trejo Is Way Too Ugly To Be A Leading Actor

Danny Trejo should stick to being a supporting actor. His look is not marketable enough to be leading actor material that gets first name billing in films.

I am not saying an actor has to look as handsome as Ryan Gosling to be top billing leading man material, but damn Danny Trejo looks like he got hit with every branch of the ugly stick. He is not even an average looking guy, he is straight up UGLY AS HELL. He looks like a dirty rapist that is on the run from law enforcement.

What does "being ugly" have to do with anything?

Can he portray the character well enough? Yes, then that is all that matters.

Thats why this move has bombed
thats why he is NOT A LEADING ACTOR unless its straight ti DVD films like he does.
When he is in mainstream films...he is in the background.

Plus he is old as hell.
Like him in some roles to be fair.

Machete series is just trash.

Seen 131 of the movies on the top 250. Own 108 of them.

+1000...I'm not at a a shallow person and beauty is only skin deep BUT if I looked like this horrendous, I would def my ass to a dermatologist. With the money he makes there's no excuse for a little facial or skin peel now and then.

And F him if he doesn't give a damn that's fine, but if you're in the show biz you have some duty or obligation not to scare young kids with you hideous face.

The contradictory but statement; maybe unlike most other people, he actual likes the way he looks and does not want to go under the knife(I think people who do this deserve no respect) for the sake of others. Are little kids really seeing Machete and for the kind of movie this is, it fits, if he was a pretty boy it would not work.

no offence to the guy but I agree its such a shame cinema and tv are so sexist, both are full of ugly and fat men yet how often do you see a woman over 40, or one thats not a blonde bimbo.

I'm all for equality so lets have old, fat and ugly woman or get rid of all the old, fat, ugly men to make it equal.

why not I'm a woman as a member of a sex that makes up 50% of the planet I'm sick of being presented with a bunch of ugly, fat guys on tv etc all the time, I mean a prime case in point is that shia dork who gets given way too many roles. its no wonder woman hardly watch porn theres hardly any guys worth looking at in them.

Because forced equality is not equality. I remember this short story in which society wanted everyone to be equal; anyone too tall was made shorter with surgery, those smarter get electric shocks for being thinking something smarter than the average person, those with more talent were intentionally handicapped to make it fair to those with less talent, and those more beautiful were scarred to make it fair to the less beautiful, etc. It is a process, a slow process and if you want objectification to end, then you must support both genders and not just your own gender. Eventually more women will be shown like that, but going backwards helps no one.

I know several women who find him cute and only gets work because the films he is in makes money and once he does not, his roles will decrease. What you seem to be implying that acting is unimportant when it comes to getting a job, it should be looks(Rather vapid really). When I go to movies, it is not to jack off, but to watch a story and I could care less what the actors look like. There are hardly any women worth watching either in porn(too many fake tits) and women watch it almost at the same rate as men(believe it or not).

Look at Melissa McCarthy a fat woman getting popular and then there is Lindsey Lohan, and she is "ugly"; these are things you want correct? So, it is going to start happening slowly but surely, but just because it is not happening right this bleeping second does not mean one should go backwards.

Question for you, if the positions was reverse("Ugly" women everywhere and only "beautiful" guys) would you be here saying that "ugly" women should not be casted because it is not equal?

If you really want to get down to it, most actors(both sexes) are GQ. People like Danny Trejo are the exception.

Unlike you, I am not cynical. Besides none of the women in this film are that attractive.
Some of the actors chosen are friends with the director.

Michelle Rodriguez - She has a history of playing the tough bitch.

Lady Gaga - It is Lady Gaga

Sofía Vergara- Never saw the big deal about her.

Amber Heard - Her character is a bimbo beauty queen and played that part well.

A dog could have played his part. All he does is he just 'listens' (all that's missing is a tongue hanging out from time to time). Everyone twirling around his ugly mutt face trying to act their a%%es off. Van Damme should get an oscar compared to this old ugly chubby fart.

His rough looks are precisely what make him interesting. Look at all the bombs from Ashton Kutcher & Ben Affleck. Danny Trejo doesn't have their looks, but has been much more bankable over the years.
