Total rip-off of Stevan Mena's 'Bereavement' !!!

Wow, I am utterly speechless... I didn't know one could go this far in ripping off somebody else's work! This film's plot and settings are completely lifted from Stevan Mena's "Bereavement". Shame on Lynch!

When you've left something in the world with artistic merit yourself, maybe then you can accuse others of "ripping off". Best not to, though. Just makes you look like a moron.

Bereavement was awful, absolutely terrible. Chained was actually really good. I don't believe this is a rip-off but lets say it is for a second - you can't deny Chained did it so much better.

I watched this last night and the twist is annoying me. If the dad did set it all up then why was he never abusive to his first wife and son? Or with his second wife?

And when Rabbit said 'I know all about you and your past'... What did that mean? Yes he came from an abusive home but he had never showed any of his brothers tendencies.

Sounds like Dr. Lamb to me: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104319/

I have just watched Bereavement and it is absolutely NOTHING like Chained.
Bereavement was a terrible film and Chained was a great one.

You don't even hear the boy talking, he is not a slave, he has no feelings or emotion. The killer doesn't try to teach him anything. He just cleans up after the killings and watches.

Bereavement was about a nut case who thought he was receiving orders from a bulls skull on his wall. Chained actually showed you how and why the killer became like he did. He was abused as a child and taught to think all women were whores like his mother who he was forced to have sex with by his abusive father until she couldn't look at him anymore. Which made him hate women.

There was no explanation and very little history in Bereavement. It was just senseless murders which they couldn't even make those interesting.

I can't see how you could compare the two movies. They are totally different.

The acting in Bereavement was awful and the plot was awful. Chained was pretty much flawless and I loved it.

Well I don't think that matters, considering that "Chained" is a much better film than "Bereavement." Consider it a "reboot" of an inferior film..

It's a rip like Hunger Games is a rip off of Battle Royal. Clearly the same premise but the personality of the characters and the way the plot unfolds is different enough for the 'rip offs' to stand alone

Who cares? This film is way better than Bereavement in every way lol.
