Tonight's finale was by far the best episode in this series imho. The most poignant scene was her hallucination about Jack, Hedda and Bette.
I do have one question: Did Bette really make that cruel remark to the reporter about Joan's death?

I knew it wasn't real, but in a sense it was real, to Joan at least. Regardless it was the best scene in the whole series.
They went out on a high note.

It really was a sad finale and like you have already said an unfortunate reminder that Hollywood loves you when you're on top and has no use for you when you're not. Those images of her working on that film "Trog" were very heartbreaking i.e. having to change in some bus etc. These two were so much alike that we can only imagine what a force they would have been working for each other instead of against each other. Bette made a comment about the "In Memorium" section on the Oscars that thirty seconds is all any of them would get, and that is unfortunately true.

It is sad that after those years of work an sweat they only get 30 seconds in the "In Memorium" at the Oscars. But they actually get more than that, such as shows like this one which rekindle interest in them and their careers.
On the other hand, the rest of us don't even get that.

Although as a Davis fan I was a bit disappointed that the series seemed to be "the Joan Crawford show", I'm actually glad it worked out this way. Maybe Feud can do something to repair the damage that Mommie Dearest did to Joan's memory.
It's already made me reconsider my position on her and Christine. Her other adopted daughters said Mommie Dearest was a crock. As they say, there are three sides to every story: your side, their side, and the truth. The truth usually lies somewhere between the other two.

Joan could be a total piglet based on what I've heard but I've always thought there was something fishy abt Christina's claims, but when it comes to child abuse I never felt comfortable disputing her, I think a lot of people feel like that when it comes to these types of claims. The accused is "guilty" until proven innocent..
I always felt that Christina was jealous of Joan. She lacked her looks and talent and she knew how to push her buttons.
They showed on Feud that she could be a piglet in her professional life, but she seemed genuinely loving when her other daughter showed up with her kids. I guess we'll never know the complete truth.

I do agree we don't hear the WHOLE truth, because people don't even know the whole truth when looking at their own lives (as everyone's view is subjective), but the facts about Crawford being an abusive parent aren't really in dispute. So MANY outsiders (and insiders) have come forth with what they saw...it's just pathetic reaching to even try to dispute it any more : (
Even the most even-handed of the Crawford biographies (the one by Bob Thomas, published even before MOMMIE DEAREST hit the stands) is frank about acknowledging that many of Crawford's coworkers witnessed severe abuse being dished out by Joan Crawford.
