I know that Alco's do keep part of their nature under wraps at work, sometimes, but I don't think she ever seems other than a smug, Whimsical Julie Andrews do-gooder type?

Have you followed her story since Season 1 ? There is more to her than that.

It is true that Trixie is an alcoholic. There are periods when she can't hide her addiction, but she's normally a regular at Alcoholics Anonymous.

Trixie is functioning alcoholic. She goes to alcoholic anonymous for help.
