Lord of the Rings meets Star Wars

With that combination how can it not be great.

Especially when Malekith, unleashed his spaceships onto Asgard...I just thought WOW this really is Lord of the Rings meets Star Wars. Imagine if Frodo had a spaceship or a laser gun, the books would have been a lot shorter.

Exactly the reason I loved this movie. 

We are getting our first trailer for Star Wars this weekend. I wonder if it will look as good as Thor The Dark World?

In the scene where we have Frigga's funeral I was totally flashing to "Revenge of the Sith" and thinking how like Padme's funeral it looked.

Ironic, considering Natalie's involvement...

Hi. I'm the inner babysitter!

Yet, there's not one Marvel movie that doesn't top Revenge of the Sith or any Star Wars prequel. Natalie's resume looks so much better with these Thor films on it.

reply

Natalie Portman needs Marvel more than Marvel needs Natalie Portman.

I honestly don't expect any of the new Star Wars to be able to hang with Marvel's best either.

The Force Awakens is good popcorn fun but nowhere near as good as Avengers. Not even close.

I accept your surrender.

LOTR meets SW...and gives birth to Flash Gordon ( the 1930s matinee films )

My God it's full of stars...

...and the baby Flash suckles on Kate Beckinsale's Selene firm bazooms (the leather clad sex goddess from Underworld)

I know this is old but just got into MCU and was thinking its a bit like star wars but not as big ships.
I like MCU more than star wars to. still have to watch the last 3 though. but seen the first 6.
