Here is a link to the Youtube video that contains surveillance of the actual incident, and interviews with the real idiots who were involved. Yes, it is based on truth, and it's just as shocking and preposterous as the movie.

Could people please stop calling the teen victim an idiot? If I beat a 5 year old with a baseball bat, you would accuse me of abusing my bigger strength. Abusing a vulnerable mind is just as abusive, it doesn't mean the controlled mind was stupid: it was weak, but that's not a teenager's fault.
