Not one swear word
From the main cast. Not one overused F-bomb! Quite remarkable given the high drama and egos involved.
I believe one of the teen girls used a-hole when a kid was throwing fire crackers at her.

When you have an actual story you don't need to throw in the swear words which are often just cheap gimmies writers use to try and fill in when they know the story is lacking.
shareyeah, because mechanics and race car drivers are true gentlemen who never swear....
shareThe reality is some do some don't. You also have to remember that this happened in a different time period. In the late 50's and early 60's there were still laws in many states and ordinances in lots of cities that made using offensive language a crime.
But whether it was accurate for the characters involved or not isn't really even the point. The point is that in most movies swearing is rarely necessary it is just a cheap gimmick bad writers use, a bit like some comedians that revert to swearing constantly because shock value is easier to get than an actual laugh.
Funny how things turned out because using offensive language being a crime seems to be coming back to fashion.
shareGoddamn is used multiple times.
shareThat is not a swear word. It's not even against God, who doesn't exist.
Well most Christians would regard it as blasphemy. In fact, many would wince harder at hearing "goddamn" than they would at hearing "fuck," which may or may not even register on their radar.
But even if you don't want to go down that line of thought, "damn" is regarded as a swear word, yes. Would a child be looked at crossly if he was overheard screaming "Goddamn it!" or even just "Damn it!"? Of course. Because he's swearing.
There is only one way to KNOW that God doesn't exist and that is to be a God yourself. But if you are a god then there is a God. So you are full of shit.
shareNo. The only thing you need to know that god does not exist is to know that people proclaiming he does are wrong. You dont need to prove a negative, but since we can prove a positive is wrong, ergo god does not exist.
shareIt's not against God, but it's calling down the wrath of God on someone who (most likely) doesn't deserve it, and if they did, that would be God's call, not yours.
shareactually it would be considered using gods name in vain and would break one of the 10 commandments, so you burn in hell for saying that.
shareBunch of snowflakes
F-Bomb, the word you are lookng for is "Fuck", it is in the Oxford Dictionary, it is a word.
Can't stand this modern way of skirting around certain words, the N word, the C word, F-bomb.
If your gonna discuss a particular word just fucking say it.
Hey at least its not the old IMDB boards censorship where at one point the word filter would filter out words such as "hitler". Making discussion of WW2 movies really fun.
shareBale calls the moderator at the beginning an asshole
shareI spent most of my time in the 1960s around guys just like this, involved in motorcycle and car building and racing. They swore, but even among those manly men back then the F bomb and even the S bomb were not tossed around ten percent as often as almost everyone, including kids, uses them today. The movie was refreshingly realistic in that respect.
shareInteresting, I wasn't alive in the 1960's but I assumed as much. Just shows the power of the media to shape behavior. I heard MF on Comedy Central uncensored yesterday.
shareThe media reflect behaviuor, not shape it. All attempts to prove that media shape behaviuor, program us, densensitize and other such crap have failed as studies show this not to be true.
