Why did Billy kill Angela?
I totally missed something and don't feel like going back to see what I missed. I know she was cheating on him with Charlie but I don't get why Billy killed her after learning that Myra was killed.

shareBecause Charlie killed Myra and Billy felt guilty so took it upon himself to get a little revenge by killing Angela. It's funny because the film starts out with Charlie wanting her dead but he is a possessive psycho so the thought of someone else killing his girlfriend probably pissed him off big time.
This film had layers.... like a cake
She wasn't "cheating on him with Charlie"...it was quite the other way around. During that scene, it pans across photos of the couple, indicating that they are relatively serious and she most likely lives with Charlie.
Billy was the screw on the side, and he killed her a) because he dislikes her psycho boyfriend and b) because her psycho boyfriend killed Hans' wife...for which he felt responsible, and c) because she was screwing him over by telling Charlie that billy took the dog.
So, not only did she clearly choose a side, she was also in the process of reconciling with Charlie...which is what I gathered from the phone call.
The answer is b)
His entire character motivation for killing Angela is revenge...as soon as he hears that Charlie has killed his good friend Hans's wife...he walks outside and shoots her because she is after all, Charlie's girlfriend...and she was on the phone with him which he also knew. It was a great way to send a message from one psycho to another.
Even the most primitive society has an innate respect for the insane.
also, he shot her in the stomach and then called for an ambulance
Still psychotic behavior, but also suggesting he didn't actually want her dead as much as hurt as a way to get Charlie's fullest attention (and to do something totally shocking, I mean, who saw that coming?)

i'm going to watch the movie again. apparently it didn't have my undivided attention.
shareI wonder...
If the two hitters at the beginning were going to kill Angela, and Billy killed them as part of his moral quest, then it's ironic that he ends up doing their job for them.
