Question about the bit right at the beginning...
When Michael Stuhlbarg's character says he has the chick-killing shakes, does he really, or is he just being sarcastic?

Yes, as the other respondent already said, he was being sarcastic when he said that--but I actually really liked that because it set the tone for the dark humor of the movie. Because the guy makes that sarcastic comment about having the chick-killing shakes, and then...a female jogger comes along and he jumps a little and grabs for his gun in a nervous way. Then tries to cover by crossing his arms like he's just as cool as can be. The female jogger even turns to stare because his jumpiness is so obvious. He really DID have the chick-killing shakes!
I thought that was an extremely well-written and subtle scene. One of the best in the film.
