I think we can start calling this the Dinklage effect. He has effectively made it problematic to cast his own 'community' in a spectacular own goal.

He didn’t like that Disney was going to cast little people for the dwarf roles in Snow White. I’m not a little person, but from my understanding, their community was split on agreeing with him or being unhappy that some of the few little people roles available were being taken by normal sized actors.
I’m not sure what happened with Time Bandits as the roles didn’t fall into the dwarf/leprechaun category and seemed more akin to Willow.
They did originally though , so must be the same Dinklage effect
