Emily Browning is the ugliest leading actress I have ever seen

her hand maid is way hotter...shouldn`t it be the other way around?

She is not ugly at all. I think she is a very attractive woman.

Her maid is pretty daym hot in this movie, but she is attractive as well.

She is usually very pretty and freaking gorgeous in Sucker Punch. Not sure what was going on with her in this movie. Every time I saw her in this movie, I thought of the Keebler elves.

I agree, the lead actress in this movie is a dog. HUGE forehead, dopey eyes, her ears stick out, and her mouth/lips are just bloated looking. IDK how anyone can find this woman appealing. 2/10 would not bang.

I ordinarily would not post in a thread like this because it's really kind of crass, and I'm sure that at least some of the actors or their family read these boards from time to time, and I wouldn't want to contribute to hurting their feelings so much.

But I have to say that I too was very surprised at how unattractive the leading actress was in Pompeii, at least as far as conventional beauty goes. It's almost like they were aiming for Angelina Jolie, but came up way, way short. Jessica Lucas (Ariadne) is much more attractive, and by looks alone should have got the part; but I wonder if, apart from having less experience, she was considered 'too brown' to play a wealthy Roman by the execs and creative team.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Atticus) is another real dog in the looks department, as are Joe Pingue and Sasha Roiz (although neither is nowhere near as bad).

Let's face it: This ain't Shakespeare. A major part of the allure of this kind of film is the chance to gaze at beautiful people on display. You can pretty much expect audiences to be disappointed if the proportion of major characters who are unattractive exceeds a certain threshold, as it did in this case. lol

It didn't help that Paz Vega, who is stunningly attractive, was listed by Netflix as being in this production, but that appears to have been an error.

On the contrary, I think she's quite striking.

Wha? She's not "ugly" at all -- have you seen her in Lemony Snickets A Series of Unfortunate Events? Sucker Punch? Sleeping Beauty? She was gorgeous in those...

Mind you, being a fan of Emily's in the past, even I thought she didn't look as beautiful as usual in this film. Maybe she just doesn't suit the Ancient Romanesque style as well as the others... *shrug*

You must be joking or high or then have a very unusual taste. I don't find black men handsome most of the time but Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was absolutely stunning, as was Sasha Roiz. Joe Pingue is also a nice looking man even with his extra poundage and his character was not supposed to be a heart throb anyway.

Emily Browning is a conventional beauty, she has absolutely lovely features. Angelina Jolie looks weird to me, like having tons of plastic surgery although I reckon she has not.
