The frowny sister sucked

Not only was she extremely unpleasant and had no chemistry with Mike but her change of heart at the very end was weird and random and didn't make sense within the context of her character.

I agree, she is homely and a bad actress. She ruined the movie.

reply

Putting her looks aside, she was friggin awful! Both the actress playing her and the character they wrote for her to play. She seriously had nothing to do in this movie, she should have been deleted from the screenplay after the first draft. How she made it into the mass released final product is beyond me. She almost ruined the movie by herself...

I couldn't help but laugh at "frowny" sister. She did frown alot. But I guess her character wasn't supposed to be too interested in Magic, but you could tell that she was.

(Spoiler, I guess)You missed your show and said you'll change? That's good enough for me. Gratitude for paying the thugs isn't enough of a reason to disregard everything. It's one thing to say you'll change, it's another thing entirely to actually change. Especially for someone who seems to be pretty objective. But, he was hot, so it's OK, right?

reply

I'm watching the movie now and she is annoying and awful. She just did one of the most painful fake laughs I have ever heard and she repeated it like 5 times. That perpetual frown didn't help what was already a very plain face.

reply

The sister looked like a less attractive version of Elizabeth Banks. I still thought she was kind of cute.

reply

Agreed so much! She made every single scene unwatchable. Olivia Munn sucked too, but not as bad as Frowny McFrownerson.

reply

Exactly!!, that walking on the beach scene when she laughs??!!, hell!! she was absolutely HORRID, so fake! so unnatural HaHaha Amadeus kind of laughing! Oh lord...

Plus she is an egoistic princess bitch, mike leaves his life, his powerfull income job that allows him to keep saving towards fullfilling his real dream as furniture entrepnr., not to mention the 10k he gave to save her now happy livinglavidaloca brothers hide... while she does what?, she exposes?, she jeopardizes?, does she put anything of herself/her life on the line for them to try being together? nothing at all. She only demands.

She ultimately castrates him.

Seems like some studio suit added in the stupid romantic angle with her after reading the script.

Am I the only one who think she is great? She is suppose to be an more introverted and socially awkward person and the actress portrays that perfectly. I even know a girl who is exactly like the "fromny sister".

No, I agree. I thought she was perfect. And really liked their awkward chemistry. But we are definitely in the minority.

reply

Count me as a third who really liked her. The character and the performance. Their chemistry was awkward... and I loved it.

She reminded of the sister in "Dexter." Only worse.

Not even the stripping scenes could make up for this horrible film.

It was much better (well, somewhat) back in the day when it was called "For Ladies Only" and starred Gregory Harrison.

Her change of heart made total sense. First off, he bailed out her brother financially and came to the conclusion that his life was becoming a train-wreck, which she'd been telling him all along. While he was in denial, she kept the stick up her ass. She needed him to wake up to open up.
