This Would've Been Great...if the Ending Were Better.

Pros: I knew this movie would be intense because this is a movie about abduction, and you wonder how the person will make it out alive. The director definitely gave me that...right up until the very end...

Cons: the very end was so disappointing. I understand women need to feel empowered, but that doesn't mean you go and be like the person causing all this mess. It made no sense whatsoever to leave him down there. There was no point. Then, you've swept the dirt under the rug. How do you expect anyone to buy that "the girl escaped her killer (not thinking the police might wanna know where), the dispatcher found her (by going somewhere she had no business going to), and the killer just disappeared". This is some of the worst logic in a movie I've ever seen. Sweeping dirt under the rug, and becoming the heinous person who abducted you. BRILLIANT!!!!! (not)...

Agreed. It ruined it for me. Even if they wanted vengeance, they could have killed him, or blinded him, or anything. Then called the police and claim his death/injuries were self defense. This end makes nos sense AT ALL. The operators fingerprints are all over his torture chamber.

The ending was the only part of this movie I liked.

reply

Yeah the ending was rubbish. I would have stuck the screwdriver in both his knee caps before calling the police, ensuring he stays down and can't run away

Get a grip. The ending was perfect

LOVED the ending!!!

reply

Me too, it assured the sicko psycho's fate!

lets hope you don't write a screenplay

I agree. It is such a pity that this really interesting, exciting story got hijacked by unreal heroics after the scene where the LAPD broadcast what they know about Michael when they raid his home. I get that it's satisfying to see Allison and Jordan give it good to the serial girl killer, but I would so much rather have seen them do it via Jordan stationed at her 911 phone.

Yeah, this needed a better ending.

reply

Agreed, *beep* nonsensical ending.

the whole movie was great, but i thought, if she doesnt call before going into the badguys lair, its gonna have a *beep* ending... i was right.

the other... 90% of the movie was great though!

I liked the ending. They could have made up a coherent story. Or they might not actually have left him there to die but just wanted him to experience some fear. He was so cocky when he told her to get the cops so that wiped the smile of his face. Personally i would have killed him early on when she knocked him out. That is how you go from victorious to deceased usually. I mean why continually run and be fearful when you can end it. I mean there was a shelf right next to where he fell just waiting to be knocked over him.

The more I think about it, the more I think it was a clever ending. It leaves you wondering whether they were just fucking with his mind and simply letting him stew in horror for a while before they actually call the cops to come and get him. Or maybe they were actually going to leave him to die; u-u-u-arrr (cue thunder). But I do hope that they took the girl to surgery quick smart to get that gaping incision on her head stitched up.
