Likely to be the biggest FLOP of Arnold's career to date...

ORIGINAL POST IN AUGUST 2014:

...Unfortunate, but true.

How this movie was green-lit I have no idea. Nobody wants to see a PG-rated movie about zombies that replaces the typical thrill, action, blood and violence associated with zombie films with an out-of-shape over-the-hill Arnold trying to act 'emotional' regarding the daughter character slowly deteriorating towards death akin to watching someone die slowly of terminal cancer. I'd rather pour salt in my eyes...

Thoughts?

UPDATE POST ON 25th MARCH 2015:

Well, being the OP, I have to say that after having just watched the first trailer for Maggie I am pleased to admit that I could not have been more wrong... In short, I am entirely reversing my opinion regarding this movie. From the trailer this movie looks amazing and I can't wait to see it. Let's hope the movie is as good as the trailer implies ;-D

Hey idiot, do you not read synopses? It clearly states the movie is about ONE family and how they dealt with it, which it clearly did. It wasn't supposed to be the zombie movie that you were hoping for. It was a family-focused movie.

"So, what would you like to see on your honeymoon, Mrs. Cord?" "Lots of lovely ceilings."

Deadline is projecting a $131K opening weekend in 79 theaters. 1600/screen average which is pretty bad.

Not as bad as Jack Black's The D-Train though - projected $406K from 1009 theaters.

Well the final stats read:

$4,500,000 BUDGET...

with ***drumroll***

...TOTAL WORLDWIDE REVENUE= $187,112

So, that means the movie's total worldwide revenue recouped only FOUR PERCENT of its budget... I repeat, the movie's total worldwide revenue recouped only FOUR PERCENT of its budget...

So, that's a 96% EPIC FAIL.

It's official, there is no other Arnold movie that recouped less than 4% of its budget in box office takings worldwide.

So was I right or was I right? I think that pretty much qualifies as the biggest FLOP of Arnold's career to date... don't ya think?

So, this is me smugly saying I told ya so! 😜
