Seth Green is awful as Leo!!

As soon as I heard he was taking over I knew it would be bad. He's painful to listen to. Please!!! They need to bring someone else in. Even my boys notice how horrible Leo sounds. All I hear is Chris Griffin. Awful!! Awful!!! Awful!!!!!! choice to replace JB.

Who agrees?

reply

If the producers were actually you know, "clever", they would've gotten Cam Clarke (Leo's original voice actor from the 1987 TMNT series) to reprise his role.

reply

I heard Cam Clarke try to reprise the role at the end of the Wormquake-two parter, and while it was a nice throwback, I don't think he can perform the role well as he did when he was younger.

reply

I like Green's voice because it has a real leadership quality to it. He's really made the role his own so far.

No, Cam Clarke is getting to old for cartoons now and he wouldn't fit this version of Leo.

He actually played Leonardo again for a new mobile game based on the 2014 movie and he sounded just like he did back all of those years ago.

reply

I didn't know that about Cam Clarke. I guess I was wrong.

And I do agree with you about Seth Green.

reply

I love him:) Can't get enough of it really!

Alright...here we are...half way through this really bad season...and Seth Green's voice is STILL awful!! And you can't say we did not give him a chance. He may be good at other characters...but HE IS NOT A GOOD CHOICE FOR LEO! When he speaks, I and many others, CRINGE!!!!!

reply

No, Cam Clarke is getting to old for cartoons now and he wouldn't fit this version of Leo. I kind of like Seth Green in the part because he makes Leo sound more mature. Think Chris Griffen in his twenties with a higher I.Q., leadership abilities and keller ninjitzu skills. And this season has been fine with me since they've now covered my favorite part of the Mirage comic book volume 1 and even thrown in some bits and pieces from the 1990 movie which I love. No hate here so far.

reply

That doesn't entirely explain why everybody else is allowed to sound the same and sound their age so to speak! Somebody on YouTube said it best that Seth Green makes Leo sound like a creepy older person who for whatever the reasons, hangs out w/ teenagers. And isn't Leo already supposed to sound "mature" regardless since he's the leader?

reply

I heard it today for the first time (I know I'm late) and I wasn't really impressed.

His voice is too deep for Leonardo, it sounded just as unfitting as Leo's voice in Turtles Forever.

reply

Can they please bring back the last person who did the voice for Leo? That was perfect. All the other turtles voices are perfect. I cringe every time I hear Seth Green's voice for Leo. Nothing against Seth Green. I enjoy his other work, but his voice just doesn't work for this role. Please bring back the last person or at least get someone who sounds like the last person that did his voice. Obviously others don't like it either. I could careless if some celebrity is doing the voice. Save your money by not getting a celebrity and get a person with a better voice for Leo.

I would not have minded if they kept Dominic Catrambone. He sounded just fine as Leonardo. However, I do not miss Jason Biggs at all. He did not need to act the way he did and he crossed the line far too many times. The popular Youtube user, Andre the black Nerd, said it best from 2:47 to 3:17 about why a popular voice actor taking over the role was better news than a random voice actor doing it full-time.

I personally like Seth Green in the role because he made it his own. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I like the new voice because it is unique voice with a nice cartoon and leadership quality feel to it.

The one problem w/ that "popular voice actor" theory is that I can't help but think that I'm listening to the guy who plays Chris Griffin on Family Guy or the guy on Robot Chicken. My point is that by this point, Seth Green's voice is kind of too recognizable to be taken seriously enough. Why does the notoriety or name recognition of said voice actor (just because more people know who Seth Green is than Dominic Catrambone) instantly or automatically make a show better?

reply

He is a HORRIBLE choice to voice Leo!

reply

I agreed I don't really like

this voice as much as the old one BUT on the other hand it really sounds more mature like he is growing up and taking things more seriously and being a mature leader however I do miss his fun quirkiness and his old voice

reply

I had hoped Green's voice would grow on me but it hasn't. While I don't abhor it like I did initially, I still wish the show would find someone else for the role. I can't put my finger on it but there is just something about Green's voice that doesn't mesh with the character.

It has grown on me a lot. He really has made it his own and I think the most recent episode may have been his best.

reply

Yeah, he's horrible as Leo. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he really sucks in the role. Perhaps they should have had actual auditions for the voice instead of just thinking a popular name attached would make it all better. To think there might have been somebody unknown given the gig that could have done great with it. Oh well, in this business, it's not how talented you are or are gifted you are, it's who you know that counts how far you will get.

^ This show and its fans meant absolutely nothing to Jason Biggs. However, Green enjoys this job and the fans do matter to him. Read this:

"Recording turtles is such a fun experience. I'm a long time fan of the property, as are writer/producer @Brandon_auman & actors @rob_paulsen @gregcipes & Kevin Michael Richardson. We love getting to do this, & truly appreciate what the characters & stories mean to you. Because we are you. We love them too. It's awesome to get to share with you and each other. Thanks!"

I honestly stopped watching the show ever since Seth Green took over from Jason Biggs. I've said numerous times that if they had to replace Biggs (as punishment for his abhorrent Twitter behavior), then they simply should've gone w/ Dominic Catrambone.

I was floored when I heard it at the beginning of the season...almost finished this season and still just not Leo ugh..

reply

I think part of the issue may be that Green's voice is too recognizable (he has a very deep sounding natural voice, that isn't exactly the most youthful sounding in the world), especially when he hasn't really defined a character from ground zero.

reply

Jason Biggs is way better. Seth Green's voice never used to bug me. But now, maybe because he does a crap load of VoiceOver, it does.

reply

Seth Green even did the voice of Howard the Duck during the post-credits scene in Guardians of the Galaxy.
