Batman Begin had 150m budget in 2005! Even Batman Forever had 100m budget in... 1995!
Of course budget has nothing to do with quality, but when people think of Batman franchise, they expect giant action set piece.
Is this the reason all the trailers didn't show much of actions? Because the movie lack actions?

The Matrix 4 had a $200 million dollar budget, and it looked worse than the 1999 version which was made for $60 million.
I'm actually glad this one has a smaller budget than the others. Maybe they'll be using more practical effects instead CGI.
Not every movie needs CGI in every shot. It's the story that comes first.
Use CGI or practical has nothing to do with budget, in some cases use practical can cost more. Mission Impossible franchise boost practical actions, the last two movies cost 150m.

Very little money is actually spent on CGI and effects. That stuff probably only costs like $10-20 million or so.
Just look at Avengers Endgame for example.
The budget for that was like $300 million, but $50 million of it went towards Robert Downey's paycheck. It's just crazy how just one actor's paycheck can take up nearly a third of production costs.
Robert Downey is great as Iron Man don't get me wrong, but it wasn't a $50 million performance or anything.
I don't even think that's the actual budget. Deadline just randomly placed 100 mil on their site without indicating any sort of confirmation from Warner Brothers. I personally think it'll cost at least between 150 to 180 million.

I will give you a reason why 100m might be a correct number: the trailers didn't show any giant action set piece, and look incredible dark, I've to turn up the screen brightness to watch the trailers, and that is a backlight screen, can you imagine watch the movie in theaters with projector? Why so dark? Because VFX artists will tell you: it's cheaper to make VFX.

shareThere is no way this movie can have a budget of 100 millions. Whoever said it - lied. Budget will be 200 millions minimum. But probably more. That movie is too big.
