This is just like asking how many episodes of Diagnosis Murder is enough.

There will never be a limit to the amount of times the formula can be recycled.

... Although technically in the case of Diagnosis Murder it came to an end after 8 seasons and 178 episodes not counting the TV movies. But nonetheless you hopefully see what I mean.

As long as people keep paying to see it? Which is fine to me. You don't have to watch it if you're not into it or getting tired of it. The Super Hero genre has been there for decades, and it's always had a huge fan base.

reply

you're right thankfully I dont have to watch superhero films.
I'm just sick of hearing about them, but again , i can ignore that.
I just wonder what great stuff might be being produced if hollywood (or whoever ) wasnt wasting their time on the constant stream of drivel that is mcu etc.

(liked by many profitable drivel admittedly)

It's not time wasting if it's making a lot of money. Which it is. There's other movies out there that are non super hero. So it's not like that's all Hollywood is focusing on. Also there's stuff on other things like Netflix, Hulu, and the free apps such as pluto tv, tubi, filmrise and Plex. To name a few.

reply

"It's not time wasting if it's making a lot of money." that only applies if you are the one profiting from it.

Yes theres other stuff, and i do find stuff to watch, but the sheer volume of superhero shit is mind boggling.
They could be making actual good stuff , like in the 70s,80s and 90s
Instead of just feeding the masses with banal, childish, men-in-costumes baby stories.
You dont need to take it!
I know you find them palatable but , like a chicken mcnugget, theres so much better stuff they could be making - like literally anything.

phew! sorry , got a bit ranty there.

The 70s, 80s and 90s had it's share of super hero movies too along with other things just like right now. So you should look into finding it rather than trying to tell filmmakers to stop making something that clearly alot of other people out there all around the world like. Hence why it's profiting so much.

About as many Sherlock Holmes or Dracula films.

Oh snap! We got none other than the miserably grumpy+broken record Scorsese up in this joint doing his gatekeeping thang! Ah, good ol’ “back in my day” Marty proving once again that he’s a pompous, out of touch, and narrow-minded fella... oh, that sleazy wise guy-loving fella! Or it’s just one of his many elitist disciples that amusingly boomas up the joint like a true a get-off-my-lawn-regressive booma, ya know.

The only ones that are almost as bad as the “back in my day” anti-comic & franchise films film snob, are the “oh, but I like these particular comic films cuz they’re super dark, edgy and made for adults, not like that other critically acclaimed kids stuff that’s fantastical and not grounded at least 85% in depressing reality... I hear they ultimately tell real mature human stories but idc... so my joyless high-art self is too good for it” kind. But lol, as Marty himself proved, to his contrarian type all of these comic-based films are one in the same - and fans of these properties don’t know real cinema.

Well bitching pretentious Scorseses gonna bitch (btw of course Jesus, like his pops, would rather cry about films he deems inferior over actual injustices in the world)... https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcQx7pdJUCxA37pzOAHkbwsI6hRZvHzNNWJ5tQ&usqp=CAU
