So what if this a "woke" film? What matters is the movie being entertaining. Gordon being black has nothing to do with it. Representation matters and it is good to see films making an effort for it.
Diversity is the future and the way forward for humanity, embrace it.
I will pirate it if it is woke.
So, I will get what I can out of it without paying for it.
If they want to fuck with me via social programming, I will fuck with them financially.

I'll just ignore it and won't watch like the last three Star Wars movies, the last Terminator, the latest Star Trek and Doctor Who.
Sadly, I went to the movies to see Terminator and was sorry I did.
I blindly figured it would at least be fun and I didn't know about the woke shit.

I never used to pirate films at all until this massive change.
It's so easy to pirate these days, I do it often, I now spend more time watching reviews/analysis on YouTube of franchises I used to enjoy as they are more entertaining.
shareFrankly there are actual African American characters from comics who haven't even made it to film yet they go out of their way to race change other characters instead. Like you could've had Glory Grant instead of Michelle/MJ and Randy Roberson instead of Ganke Ned in the recent Spider-Man movies. Then they don't even have MJ act at all like the MJ from the comics. Sometimes I don't care like int he recent Harley Quinn movie where they turned Black Canary from white to African American.
Though I'm not as into DC comics. Unlike Marvel they constantly are rebooting their universe which is annoying. Though I still like the characters from DC that have appeared in cartoons and movies. But it seems kind of dumb to complain about lack of diversity when you have plenty of characters who aren't white who are cool that haven't even been adapted into film. I'm fine with the role of Catwoman though. I like her but she's not my most favorite. I'm more worried how cluttered this movie will be. Catwoman, Penguin, and Riddler all in the same movie makes it a bit cluttered.
If representation matters please show us how this recent trend has affected anyone or anything. Show us how it improved anything.

shareBecause Asians don't need diversity quota. They're already doctors and NASA engineers and scientists using their brainpower and sheer hard work. Who cares about what characters in a random movie is white or black when you're a surgeon?
