Anyone else annoyed we wont get an ending?

As happy as I am that spider-man is now part of the MCU I wish they waited till after the amazing-spiderman 3 to put him in the MCU.This series still deserved an ending despite how good or bad people think it is and it just feels like sony gave up on this iteration of spidey.

I'm not annoyed that we wont get an ending. I did really enjoy this series and would have liked it to carry on, but a third film may not have been to my liking or may have been the best Spidey ever, just like the MCU version could be either or.

I'm not overly enthusiastic about the MCU Spider-Man. I'm expecting some quick one liners from just about everybody in the movie and some good action but ultimately just another cut and paste feeling of an MCU film: Two hours of fun and then completely forgettable. But who knows, it might be brilliant.

Fortunately, they wrapped up most of the plot threads in the second film. The only teased aspect of a third film was Harry forming the Sinister Six, and even then, it seemed like it tied into the ending concept of Peter being able to take on the challenges facing him after being inspired by Gwen's words.

A movie is a commercial success if it makes back double the production budget

The more I think about it, I'm glad they didn't finish it. Now everyone sees it for the failed franchise that it is and now Sony is being punished for the mistakes they've made with the Marc Webb series. I feel bad for Garfield and Stone since they're the only thing entertaining about these movies. If it was up to me, I'd erase TASM2 from the continuity and use both actors for the MCU. I'm not happy about the casting of Tom Holland either. I'm sick of Spider-man being a kid or a teenager. Let him grow up already.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

Not at all. A trilogy is such a arbitrary number, there's no need to stop there instead of 2 or 4. IMHO, raimi's Spider-Man would have been better stopping at 2 as well. I really couldn't see how tasm would top he second film.

I'm not upset the franchise didn't get a third movie, because after two underwhelming movies I wasn't really interested in a third film.

I'm fine with the ending here. Clearly Spider-Man went back to work slamming evil, sometimes people don't need every single solitary thing spelled out. I'm more disappointed Andrew Garfield won't be in the role anymore.

When theres no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.

But, what about unresolved conflicts like Uncle Ben's killer, Peter overcoming Gwen Stacy's death, and cliffhangers like The Sinister Six and that Rhino fight? :'(

WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN?

Sometimes you want it spelled out though. There were enough interesting characters to go back to, and enough loose ends to tie up in a third movie. Uncle Ben's killer, Harry and the Sinister Six, Peter's grief over Gwen, introducing Mary Jane (originally meant for the second movie), whether or not Aunt May will discover Spider-Man's identity...

I would've liked to see it all play out.

I made a petition to see it play out in comic book form, since another movie is out of the question- https://www.change.org/p/marvel-continue-the-amazing-spider-man-film-series-in-comic-book-form

and an explanation as to why Peter was 30 and still a senior in HIgh School...

reply

Hey! To be fair, Peter was a high school graduate at thirty, not a senior...

reply

Yes I mean I am super excited about his MCU future I do wish they had kept this series running and made it happen within the MCU and kept Andrew. I also would have loved to see a third film to tie things up. Shame that will never happen I wanted to see another MJ.
