Now that the movie is available in other forms, folks are watching it again or for the first time. Predictably, the dummies who prefer Transformer movies have invaded the board to flaunt their vapid "thoughts." Have at it. When folks are still talking about this movie in twenty years from now, you won't even have the sense to feel stupid.
They said the same about the original Blade Runner, it got mixed reactions but grew into a cult classic. They are saying the same stuff about this move just as they did for the original:
"Misunderstood when it first hit theaters, the influence of Ridley Scott's mysterious, neo-noir Blade Runner has deepened with time. A visually remarkable, achingly human sci-fi masterpiece."
Except that the sequel is none of the above. It's not achingly human....just achingly boring.
Back in 1982, Blade Runner broke new ground in both design and atmosphere (can you really....hand on heart... say the same about the sequel?)
If you enjoyed the sequel, fair play to you. But it's fans seem to be heaping the same level of praise, that it took the original 20+ years to earn. If that isn't a case of false hype (from the 'microwave generation' demanding their own instant classic) I don't know what is?
Stop calling the people who didn't get the movie "dumb." These are the same people who got trump elected. If we don't stop making them angry, they just may elect the eraser on a pencil in 2020...
