is Gosling (spoilers)?

...a replicant? He seemed rather robotic in the trailer.

In fact, now that i think about it, perhaps he's a replicant in ALL his movies. Its been a indepth pre-marketing ploy for the last 10 years, all leading up to this film.

Hahaha, you not seen his acting range?.. look it up on YouTube. "Ryan goslings acting range"

That was really good.

Maybe he's from the Robert DeNiro school of acting, which has served him quite well... DeNiro has gone on record to say that most of times, he actually tones way way down facial expressions and emotion.... And the audience takes that blank slate and fills in the gap themselves. Basically, he allows the audience to interpret it however they thought should be appropriate, and the result makes them believe they just saw brilliant acting.

I've heard people say Gosling is a brilliant brilliant actor. I'm not saying he's bad. He's believable.... But its not actually hard to be believably be doing nothing.

I'd say he seemed like more of a replicant in Drive than in Blade Runner.

I always thought of Gosling as a robot actor until I saw... I forget the title. The one where he's a cassanova and trying to teach Steve Carell how to get pussy. And then again when I saw him in The Nice Guys. Those were the first two examples where I saw him displaying some actual personality.

The Nice Guys is a movie I enjoyed and rewatched several times. I like Russell Crowe in it the most though. His story about being "the diner guy" and how he ends with saying "I just felt like for once in my life, I actually mattered" (been awhile since Ive watched it so paraphrasing some). Also when he spots Goslings daughter walking the empty yard and he pulls over to find out what shes doing. Those emotional moments are my favorite. Though Goslings bumbling about in the film is charmingly funny xD

Difficult to think of a worse take on all of MovieChat.
