The first movie was great. The second one felt cheap... like a direct-to-dvd movie. Probably in part due to not getting Pierce Brosnon back. Poseidon didn't make an appearance in this one, and I'm kind of glad because I have a feeling they would have replaced him with another actor as well.
The worst part of the second movie for me though was Tyson. I couldn't stand looking at him. I don't know if he was supposed to come off that stupid in the book. If so the kid did a marvelous job because he seemed dumber than a box of rocks.
I would like to see another one but only if it's actually watchable like the first movie.
Tyson is supposed to act like he is 5 or something so he was quite on point, but the whole idea doesn't translate so well into the movie. In the books its some sort of comic, while in the movie he is as entertaining as a four month old piece of bread.
Life is to short to remove USB safely.
Remember, the characters are aged up. While the awkwardness is cliched and should be fixed, it seemed like a natural translation again, considering the age change. Your bread metaphor is a bit extreme and over exaggerated to use. Teenagers at the age really do feel like that, especially the way that they wrote him. Imagine how cheesy and weird 5 year old Tyson would be i this context of the films?
