Worst show ever

And no, I'm not a troll. I watch it once in a while when nothing else is on, but the characters are all so ridiculous. Also, the constant wisecracks, snarky remarks and over-use of the laugh track drive me up the wall. Not to mention the fact that they're allowed to keep a horse in the city! Come on, now. Oh well, just wanted to say my piece.

Clearly a 'troll' aka 40 year old who needs to vent.

But yeah its not a great show by far. I hate every laugh track ever. You're just going way out on your limb there..way worse shows still get renewed. (AMERICAS GOT people who can kinda sing then are forgot about in a month after they are number 1) for example.

reply

Feel better calling me a troll, numb nuts? I'm much more of a real person than you'll probably ever be. Ooh 40....so ancient eh? Jackass.

"2 Broke Girls" started out funny in maybe half the first season (maybe less, I can't remember exactly). The jokes were crude but there were some decent funny lines and the two actresses were appealing. As season 1 progressed, the show faltered. The situations (which were never believable) became absurd and not funny. I remember the season 1 finale (or something close to it) with Martha Stewart and I didn't laugh once. I gave up on it.

I understand that the show was pre-sold for syndication even before the first season was done so any impetus for the creators to do anything decent was gone.

reply

What does syndication have to do with making a good show? Stations cancel syndicated shows too.

reply

From what I understand, network shows make a lot of their profits when they get syndicated.

A program must have a certain number of shows or seasons on air (I think it's three) before they can be syndicated. Shows that fail to achieve this are considered failures. This gives the creators some reason to be creative. No syndication, no big time dollars. No show is guaranteed to be syndicated but for some reason, "2 Broke Girls" was guaranteed to be syndicated. Perhaps it was because one of the creators is Michael Patrick King, the guy behind HBO's "Sex and the City".

It's awful. Just saw an episode for the first time, did not laugh once. Garbage.

reply

Agreed. It is truly an awful, awful show. Corny stupid jokes, wooden acting, annoying voices, and an equally annoying laugh track. I know it's a show that tried to copy the formula from other dumb shows from the past, but even Laverne and Shirley wasn't quite as cringeworthy as this drivel.

reply

I'm watching it now while reading this, I have to say, people are saying it's just bad, the acting is bad, bla bla bla, yet, it's 6 seasons into the show. Something must be going right.

reply

So are those overgrown Great Danes pulling carriages in Central Park?

reply

I agree with your post. How this show has lasted is beyond me. The humor is amazingly bad. The acting is equally pathetic. Who is watching this garbage?

reply

The competition is fierce, I can think of over 100 titles of candidates to the "Worst Show Ever" moniker. 'Til Death, for example, or the terrible The First Family.

But this one is about there.

I agree. This is the worst show ever....to attend taping for. I've been there 2 or 3 times. The process can take up to 8 hours. It got so bad they had the audience split into 2 shifts. The 430 group and the 730 group. Most of it is because the writers can't agree on jokes and constantly re-tape with new punchlines.
That's not a laugh track (most of the time). That's us. A group of about 400 people. They have live performances and pre-taped. For the pre-taped portions, they play it for us and record our reactions. There was one time where they added a 2 minute scene that we, the audience, did not see. A laugh track was used for that.
As for "ridiculous"...there are many types of comedy. This falls under the category of cartoonish. They accomplished this.

reply

Hot I bet. Crowded. How can you follow the plot at all like that?
