I mean Sarah Paulson as Billie Dean practically looks no different than she does as Cordelia yet Madison and the other guy seemed to not notice the resemblance at all, i expected some kind of comment about how familiar she looks but they said nothing. Pretty much the only difference between the two is Billie has a southern accent.
shareIts called suspension of disbelief. At least they don't have Billie Dean and Cordelia in the same scene. I think (when viewing this in crossover terms) you need to look at the cast as though you were watching a stage play. Actors playing multiple characters on the same stage. If they are good enough at acting and creating characters distinct enough from their other characters, then they've done their job well. If it doesn't work for you then I would say that the actor failed to convince you of the distinction they were hoping to create. It doesn't really distract me. If they had these characters playing against each other in the same scene, that might be too much of a stretch for me.
shareI dunno it just seemed to dumb to me, them acting as if they aren't alike whatsoever, i get the play comparison but this isn't a play. Plus you could have taken Billie out of the episode and nothing would have really changed, she wasn't needed.
shareFair enough. It's not going to work for everyone. And I suppose you could say the same thing about Madison not noticing that Constance looks exactly like the late Fiona Goode. I definitely agree that Billie was an affectation. She didn't need to be there. Let's face it, this whole season has been fan service and at times I feel more like I have been watching a season of Buffy rather than AHS. But since I actually loved Buffy and I really like Cody Fern and Kathy Bates this season, I am still invested. But I really want them to start getting to the conflict. Because so far we've had 6 episodes of exposition.
shareAlso for Taissa Farmiga as she was Zoe Benson in Coven and this season in the bunker plus Violet Harmon in Murder House and this season, and Zoe and Madison spent a lot of time together. Especially when you add Evan Peters in to that as Kyle who had both Zoe and Madison as a girlfriend, who both tried to bring him back from the dead, Zoe succeeding with a kiss, who was also in Murder house as Tate (and this season as Mr. Gallant but I don't think Madison and Zoe saw him).
So you had Madison helping Violet get back with Tate, while in Coven Madison and Zoe fought over him as Kyle, which is why when Madison disappeared they thought Zoe may have killed her, so there was actually sort of a nice little bit of a twist in that interaction.
I'm with you, I like all these little machinations that are going on with the same actors playing different roles, like the one above, makes it interesting as the story twists and turns.
It's like at the end of The Notebook when we see the real couples pictures and they look nowhere near as good as Ryan Gosling and Rachael McAdams, LOL.
Basically characters from different seasons are in fact different people and don't really resemble each other, that's why they don't get recognized as dopplegangers.
If you're not smart enough to understand the concept of the show, you shouldn't be watching it. Simple as that.
