worst alien movie ever made

this is bad, this is probably even worse then allien resurrection. its plain boring, with boring and annoying characters that nobody cares about. doing the same thing over and over that all alien movies did before and brining nothing new to the table. all its is is a rehash of the first movie only the first movie was actually interesting to watch and this one isnt.

at least promotheus was different, at least promeheus brought something new to the franchise.

those last alien movies are the same formula over and over. and this movie is boring. it dosent even start up untill 40 minutes in, have bunch melodramatic idiots who are angry about the android that he dident opened the door for the xenormorph to come in. bunch of nonsense. what real humans will act like that?

ho yeah and dont get me started on that android and his bad acting.

this movie is a snooze fest. that try to reash the first movie for nostalgia

Yawn.

Btw, no Alien movies are bad. This one was just an average; a needless inclusion and essentially a remake of Alien: Resurrection (space station researching Xenomorphs, Intruders with a good robot arriving and an Alien baby expelled out of space). I watched it again, but wasn't that much of an entertainer and fell flat except the adrenaline Elevator shaft scene. The Alien baby design was lame and bringing out engineer's feature was a lame idea which they did just to tie up with Prometheus.

This move did nothing except raising appreciation for the Prequel series which tried to do something new and expanded the universe getting away from the over-played Xenomorphs.

I like your outlook. Pretty much how I feel. One of those series where even the worst entry, whatever one may feel it to be, is still an entertaining two hours. I generally feel the vast majority of movies have the potential to be entertaining if you allow yourself to enjoy it without being too critical.

That said, it very much feels like the Terminator: Dark Fate of its franchise

reply

Agree!

And the opening scene is still a facepalm situation for me. Stumbling upon the Xenomporph floating around the Nostromo remains discarding the fact that the Nostromo parts would have been speeding at thousands of kms/per second in all directions after that massive nuclear self-destruct explosion.

reply

Which is very true. One just has to accept that you shouldn't over-think these movies, just enjoy them.

Like, are we accepting these movies as fiction anyway, or absolute truth? None will beat the original anyway, ever, imo

reply

Are you including Prometheus in this, one of the worst films ever made?

reply

I can somewhat get behind this. For me, the real crux is that the original Alien 1979 just towers over every other movie in the franchise. It stands alone. Even Aliens, great as it may be, gets lumped in with 3, Resurrection, Prometheus, etc. I think they're all relatively enjoyable to watch, but none come close to touching the original.

i enjoyed it

Its greatest crime was being woke, followed closely by the terrible CGI and forced fan service of ‘Rook’, and then it also had annoying kids as characters.

Shame because it had a lot going for it in terms of world building and some well crafted action.

I’ve always liked Alien Covenant and I’m glad that it’s now being reappraised in light of Romulus. Ridley was right to put the focus on David while still keeping the Alien, working it into the whole ‘creation’ theme.

Even Prometheus had moments that made your eyes pop out - like the first scene in which a huge white humanoid stands by a waterfall on earth millions of years ago. The prequels maintained the wonder that get from great science fiction, despite their flaws in other areas. Romulus felt uninspired by comparison, and the fan service was just tacky.

reply

if this woke then the first alien movie is also woke.

reply

Err, no, that doesn’t follow, and is the typical thing a wokist would say to try and neutralise the term ‘woke’ because it calls out their cult.

reply

care to explain what is woke in it? female lead? done in the first one, black character? was in the first one...

come on, lets hear it.

reply

As I said, read my full review here: https://moviechat.org/tt18412256/Alien-Romulus/66c290489580f75ad229d877/Solid-Alien-entry-let-down-by-woke-and-misguided-fan-service

reply

as i thought, youre reading too much into it and thats why you imagine things. the movie is not woke but because you try to look for woke things in everything you think everything is an agenda

reply

No, it is woke for the reasons I gave. Your shitty gaslighting isn’t working, wokist. I see right through you to the cult that has brainwashed you.

reply

said the guy who think a science fiction movie is propoganda for immigration. lol

reply

What I said in my previous post in no way contradicts Alien Romulus having pro illegal immigration messaging 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dumb non-point.

reply

cringelord who see modern politics in a sci-fy movie, god you are pathetic, also what you said because the android is black and was bullied by a white guy you think this is woke, when he was bullied because hes an android, not black. lol at you and your theories. you probably a fan of the critical drinker and watch grifters on youtube daily while they make money on your sorry ass

reply

Now write that again with proper spelling and grammar, and I’ll consider giving it my attention.

Have you heard of schizophrenia? A diagnosis may help you find peace in life.

reply

The fuck are you talking about?

reply

You appear to suffer from paranoid delusions. I’m no psychologist but you could have BPD or schizophrenia. It’s okay to get help.

reply

It’s common for Leftists to pathologise dissent. Thanks for showing us what that looks like.

reply

Then you didn’t see Prometheus and Covenant.

This was much better than those.

reply

No way, those were much better, even factoring in Prometheus’ dumbass script.

Covenant has always been an underrated gem.

Romulus has been very kind to those Ridley prequels.

reply

> allien resurrection.

Was at least watchable. Romulus .... yuck. I knew it would be.

reply

Nobody likes retarded gloomy emo teens - not even in space.

reply

I have to agree. Even Prometheus and Covenant were better, and that’s saying something.

I would honestly consider even AVP Requiem being marginally better, and I thought the series couldn’t get worse than that.
