Director said Ripley had a cameo in the movie but he hid it for people to find.

He said in 19:52: "It's just very well hidden but they're kind of hiding in plain sight."

So, did anyone find out yet? I just watched the movie but didn't notice anything.

It's just her escape pod from the first movie floating in space.

reply

In which part of the movie? I don't remember it.

reply

It's somewhere in the background in the space scenes, pretty easy to miss.

It's impossible to know where to look just from the text description, after reading it I rewatched the clip and still couldn't notice anything, I had to look up on YouTube to know where is it:

When the ship takes off from Jackson’s Star Colony. I suspected it was the guy watching from a distance.

I just watched the clip again, and I didn't see anything.

LOL, nevermind. I read the title wrong, thought it said Ridley not Ripley.

Yep, I haven't seen Ripley yet, but I still find the guy at 15:17 smoking a cig watching the ship leave a bit curious.

reply

I too read it as 'Ridley' when I saw the post title! Then reading the post text and replies I got confused a little until realising it was 'Ripley'.

It's not just an Easter egg, it also fills a plot hole. Rook tells the story of how Ripley ejects the alien out of the airlock. She doesn't tell that story until the movie Aliens. So how does Rook know that? The shuttle is docked at the Romulus station where they had downloaded all of the shuttle's logs, including her personal log which tells the story.

Rook? The dead android in Romulus? When did he mention Ripley ejected the alien into space? I don't remember it.
