Does Hannah become more likeable?

I am on episode 4 I believe, and my husband and I both find Hannah to be pretty unlikable so far. She's sarcastic and kind of rude to Clay. I am not familiar with the show or book It is based on but I am sure something truly awful happens and I really do want to like and feel sympathy for her.

People react differently regarding likability, but I think most are sympathetic by the end. I liked her for most of the series, but it is also very frustrating because she has her faults, and never really learns how to overcome them.

Episode 5, her attitude toward Clay changes. Clay is a good dude, he just needs to learn to communicate his feelings and also not worry his parents so much.

I agree Clay does need to work on his communication....and thanks, I suppose that is a good way to look at it, all the characters have faults and she's only human. Thank you for your response!

At first I didn't like her either. She came across as really pretentious and stuck up. But then I realized that her character doesn't have to be likable. No one on the show is perfect, including Hannah. Having said that I did start to like her more as the show went on.

Thank you yes, pretentious and stuck up really describes her perfectly. You are right in suppose she does not have to be likable per se. Stuck up and pretentious doesn't mean she deserves whatever ends up happening to her, it just helps in the sympathy feeling department haha. Oh well, it's a good show with very humanized characters (well the main ones like Clay and Hannah anyway and even Alex for showing remorse...the jocks and even Jessica seem like monsters so far).

Thanks for your reply :)
