Why throw T'Challa over the waterfall? and way to fix it

Killmonger could have easily finish T'Challa right there before everyone's eyes, it would be in line with his cruel nature ,could have slit his throat or broke his neck in front of everybody instead he threw him away as if to save him WTF?

Easy way to fix it:

As Killmonger is about to deal the fatal blow, Zun thew himself on T'Challa and block with his body as repayment to his father. With his dying breath he urge T'Challa to escape but T'Challa refused ,then with the last of his strenght he push T'Challa off the edge of the waterfall(the end of the fight would have to be much closer to the edge for this scene).

Killmonger was declared winner after they cannot find T'Challa and was presumed dead.In the movie they didnt even tried to look for him or his body which is weird.

I liked how he came back and told Killmonger, "I did not yield." It was a fight to the death and he was still alive. T'Challa no doubt lost the fight, but Killmonger had to kill him. As for throwing him off the cliff, that was just Killmonger flexing his muscles. He wanted to show he could just lift the beaten mighty king up and toss him away like he was nothing.

I agree big time about flexing his muscles. Literally "throwing T'challa away" like garbage ... that's way more humiliating than simple murder. Murder would've been smarter, but Killmonger was caught up in the moment.

Why throw T'Challa over the waterfall?

It was an homage to the first issue of The Black Panther series in Jungle Action -- issue #6, Sept. 1973. T'Challa and Killmonger fight at the top of a waterfall at the end of the story culminating with Killmonger throwing T'Challa over the cliff. It was the beginning of the "Panther's Rage" storyline by Don McGregor, which ran for over two years in 13 issues of Jungle Action #6-18 and 209 pages. It was arguably the first graphic novel and was released as one volume in 2016 (https://www.amazon.com/BLACK-PANTHER-EPIC-COLLECTION-PANTHERS/dp/1302901907).

This wasn't the first appearance of the Black Panther, of course, but it was the first issue where he was the starring character.

I had the same thought when I saw that scene. Why wouldn’t he kill him for sure in front of everyone?

Obviously, they needed T’Challa to live for the movie / story; but they needed to better maneuver around that necessity.

Obviously they needed a way to keep T'C alive, but that really wasn't plausible.

Sure, Killmonger seems like the kind of guy who'd humiliate a defeated enemy, but he also seems like the kind of guy who'd make damn sure his enemy is dead once he's through humiliating him.
