This is one of those cases where the hate just doesn't make sense. It's set in Africa so they're black. What other color would they be? It's not like they replaced a bunch of white actors with black actors for "diversity"... It's set in AFRICA. Where they are BLACK. Seriously people...

shareSee my reply to HarlemEagle42’s post. It’s long, blunt, may veer off course a bit, albeit I can tell you with total certainly it’s completely factual. Think about it, an army of MCU fans who’ve been following the movies up to this point (including the supposedly “very SJW” Spiderman:Homecoming) suddenly decided to try to bring down one new astonishingly raved film in the franchise because they find it unappealing? No.
This is the work of the “down with Disney and Black Panther” group. A lot of them are DCEU fans that have been hurt so deeply by the success of Marvel and Disney and consequently they need to vent. But many more of them are, in fact, a bunch of loser racist trolls raging on Disney & Marvel’s so-called propaganda (aka progress) and they simply cannot stand to know a film like Black Panther exists. I repeat: it’s mostly racist asswipes spreading the hate (what else are they good at?) and nothing so far proves otherwise. Anyway, so many more REAL fans will see and enjoy Black Panther. I know I will.
Hate? no...its mediocre at best, there isnt any hate...just the truth that the blind PC mass is missing...its overrated and mediocre and doesnt deserve any high praise at all....one of the worst marvel movies so far

All the teens love it - adults, not so much.
But this film does have a LOT of hype going for it - the first Black superhero movie with Black actors and a Black director!
It's pretty surreal, because there are a lot of Black movies out there and there are by far fewer female movies out there, in comparison.
It's sort of like Apple - I can tell you right now that a lot of people hate and despise it because it hypes itself as being something that it's not. When you spew so much nonsense and bull during the advertisement campaign, it's natural to expect a lot of people to hate before the product even arrives.
