The first story alone could've been a full length movie

Now I know this film is supposed to be three different stories. I get that. And honestly, I still enjoyed the overall film. Except for the ending, I guess. It needed a better ending. But in my opinion, the first story of Ryan Gosling as a dirt bike riding bank robber, is by far, the most superior and intriguing story of them all. I believe that story alone could've been a full length movie.

I agree that would be pretty awesome!

I knew nothing about film when I sat down to watch it. From the synopsis I assumed all the clichés - love triangle, romantic bad boy, dour good guy etc.
So I was caught by surprise - but pleasantly so. It's a deeper and more mature story than I was expecting and I enjoyed it.
I liked the ending too. It's open and amoral and realistic.

Its a fsntastic film , loved it

I avoided trailers and only heard glimpses of it from a few movie websites that heaped praises on it.

From the imagery alone it looked like a well photographed and somewhat emotionally epic tale (if there is such a thing). So it definitely met and surpassed my expectations as far as quality filmmaking was concerned.

I only watched this movie once and it was years ago, but I remember being extremely disappointed when the story from the trailer ended about 45 minutes into the movie.

Dancing in the dark by Bruce Springsteen alone made it the best act

It was such a good segment.

Literally I thought the end was coming shortly after Bradley Cooper becomes the hero cop.

Then it just kept on right going, like a TV show

I did enjoy the other two storylines. But the first story was by far the best.

Derek Cianfrance needs to make more high quality movies like this!
