Jennifer Lawrence miscast?
Did anyone else feel that Lawrence was miscast? She seems too young for the role. Rosalyn is immature and petulant, but I don't think that Lawrence played the role that well. I think she is a fine actor, though.

shareShe's the greatest, but she was totally miscast in the role. She did not fit into the atmosphere of the film at all.
shareWhat a horrible casting choice. Any other actress would have brought home the Oscar for that role... Oh wait...
shareYou guys realize the director wrote the script with her in mind
shareThat doesn't really matter, though. She was still far too young for the part and couldn't pull it off. The fact that she got an Oscar nom says next to nothing, except that she has the right people backing her. When I saw AH in the movie theatre, people actually started groaning out loud whenever she came on screen. Didn't seem like too many people enjoyed her character/performance.
shareShe was atrocious and completely undeserving of any of the Awards she received or was nominated for this movie. Annoying and uneven accent, cussing felt so forced, zero subtlety and embarrassing overacting throughout. I think JLAW is a fine actress, but this performance was a misfire. She doesn't fit with anyone in the cast and brings nothing to the role that anyone else could have brought. Brie Larson, who I think is a more subtle actress, would've been a better choice or even great actresses like Rooney Mara or Felicity Jones would've done a far better job than Jennifer. Either of these three lovely actresses would've made Rosalyn a more believable character.
shareShe looked out of place and confused.
shareShe's miscast for everything. A horrific actress.
shareShe's a fantastic actress actually, but she was not right for Rosalyn. If the character had been written to be more like a trophy wife - a young bimbo then maybe she would have fit. But she's clearly supposed to be a mid-30s depressed housewife, and Lawrence certainly doesn't look that old.
They actually could have swapped the two women around. Sydney's age isn't important to the plot, and Lawrence would have been believable there. Amy Adams meanwhile is the right age to pull off a depressed housewife.
She is not a fantastic actress, she's actually one of the worst actresses in film history. Looks horrific on camera and can't act any role, not even one note characters like Katniss Whatshername and Mystique.
