I wish it were a proper theatrical film instead of some TV movie-looking Peacock shit, but I'll check it out. I really enjoyed the book.

Just a few nights ago I watched the 1986 film The Mission with Jeremy Irons and Robert DeNiro. It was a damn good movie and, as I was watching it, I thought to myself that truly they "don't make movies like this anymore." You know, movies that actually look and feel like serious cinema and have some real weight behind them, and that look expensive and, despite being serious and weighty films, appeal to a broad audience (i.e. not some weird indie shit).

It really is clear that the industry has changed a lot.
