Adam Driver is the insincere, condescending version of Justin Long

Don't waste your time/money on this movie. Adam Driver is the insincere, condescending version of Justin Long and I felt like I was in a bad installment of Meet the Fockers most of the time.

i'm generally don't like it when people automatically jump to conclusions that just because someone posts something negative, they're trolling, but seriously? did you even pay attention when you watched the movie?

adam driver's character in the film was supposed to be condescending and insincere. he's a manipulative, selfish person, who uses his hipster appearance to lure people in. in the last argument, he slinks around ben stiller like a snake.

also, meet the fockers? how?

reply

Exactly. However, I didn't like how it ended...or I mean how he sort of got a pass for being the way he is in the end.

Yes.

His character was very interesting, and his performance was very good.

But his character did seem to be an a***hole!

version of Justin Long

That's even funnier than you may have realized because the *beep* writer/director of this tripe and Justin Long both attended Vassar.

Justin Long was also dating Amanda Seyfried.

Watch "Tusk" if you think Justin Long can't act.

It's clear that the movie was a tad over your head (kind of surprising, because it wasn't exactly a super deep film - it was fairly wysiwyg and straight-forward).

Hopefully some of the explanations here have helped you understand why the character was insincere and condescending.

It's nice that you would have liked to see Justin Long play the character. I'm sure he appreciates having fans, of any type.

Don't, by the way, watch Tusk. If this movie leaves you addled and confused, Tusk will probably cause a brain seizure.

It is unfortunate that you've been unable to separate Ben Stiller from the Focker franchise. This movie bears no resemblance to those films in any way.

By the way, I'm actually not quite clear on one point: do you just hate Adam Driver for some reason so you run around bashing him mindlessly, or are you really this vapid?

Movies are IQ tests. The IMDB boards are each person's opportunity to broadcast their score.

He played Jamie extremely well.

Don't be a hater bro.

I also thought Adam played the character quite well. In the beginning, I liked the character. The truth comes as we get towards the middle. I was trying to figure out if Jaime would be successful. With his ability to manipulate, he probably would.

I tried not to like Adam Driver for awhile because of how much I detest his character on Girls, but he's really surprise me. He was excellent in this.

OP is a moron, who relates actors to others based on the shape of their face, and can't separate a time-after-time solid actor like Stiller from one of the movie OP's seen Ben in. OP's dvd collection includes Transformers and Happy Gilmore, period
Driver was absolutely fascinating to watch, his performance had multiple levels. I'm happy his character succeeded, it goes to show that if you're sly enough, and (perhaps manipulatingly) friendly/talented enough, "the world is your oyster."
Overall, one of my least favorite Baumbach movies, but only because many of his others are so good. Still very enjoyable.
