Literally the most boring film I have ever seen

I own all of PTA's other work, (besides his first film), and it's brilliant. Boogie Nights, Magnolia and There Will Be Blood are all massive cinematic achievements. And then this. What the *beep* was PTA on when he made this? I couldn't take it after 60 minutes and turned it off.

ps: thank you Chris Traeger

Can boredom be literal?

I have to agree with the OP. Magnolia, Boogie Nights, and Punch Drunk Love are three of the best movies I've ever seen in my life. PTA's touch on each of them is undeniable and of the highest quality. Inherent Vice, and to some extent The Master, did nothing for me. Both left me incredibly cold and indifferent. Watching Inherent Vice was like a tedious chore, one which I felt I owed to PTA, seeing as I loved his previous work so much. The only positive I found was Josh Brolin's performance. The scenes between him and Joaquin Phoenix were mildly entertaining. The material here could have easily been covered in 90 minutes, and I believe it would have greatly improved the viewing experience. I know some of you loved this movie, and I'm happy for you, because believe me, I wanted to love it.

I haven't read through all the comments to your post but I can guarantee you will be belittled and mocked because you didn't like this piece of *beep* movie.
They can't let you have your own opinion because they're hipster fanboys. They'll probably bring other films into it to discredit you like a shill would.
Like, "go and watch Transformers" for example.
