Margot Robbie will star in Disney’s female fronted ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’

This smells like disaster. I don't think the bosses at Disney realise that Depp IS and always was the franchise. Even if they make a good movie, I doubt it will be well received simply because people will miss Captain Jack. If they're smart, they'll bring Depp back in at least some form. Not talking a cameo (as that would just look insulting towards the chartacter), but having him in a proper supporting role. Something that will get him an "and Johnny Depp" in the end credits instead of an "special apperance by Johnny Depp", if you get my meaning.
shareApparently two POTC films are in development. The one with Robbie is separate from this one.
sharejust because she is/was the flavor of the month or do they really see that she would make a good pirate.
shareSpoiler Alert: It's gonna flop worse than fish in a Chinese wet seafood market.
shareOMG lol Amber Heard is in talks for the reboot along with Robbie!?

No, Amber heard has been trying to convince Robbie to help her get involved. Robbie isn't the director or casting director of the film so frankly this looks like a hail Mary by Amber who knows her career is deader than Depp's at the moment with more people pushing WB to drop her nasty ass than have ever pushed for Depp to be dropped from anything.
Amber will soon be a footnote in the history of Hollywood, and the sooner the better.
