Liberal hippy garbage!
Hey kids, shoot up drugs, trip out and fantasize you're a hero when in reality you're a loser. They should ban this sort of liberal garbage.

if you are replying to someone and then calling them a troll, don't reply in the first place. it will just look like you are feeding them. jeez.
How come signatures aren't cursive anymore
This movie was NOT pro drugs. They clearly showed that taking the drug in the movie royally *beep* up their lives.
Prof. Farnsworth: Oh. A lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm-My-Own-Grandpa!
Saying this movie is anti-drug is just as misguided as saying it is pro-drugs, it's not heroin or LSD, it's a magical, other-worldly living concoction that doesn't compare to anything we will ever synthesize. And admit it, if this was for sale, you would buy it. I'll play devil's advocate and say it's pro-drugs if I had to choose, which I don't.
shareI don't think I would buy it. I'm content not seeing monsters in my everyday life.
And on what basis do you claim it's pro-drugs? A pro-drug message would be if only good things happened to them when they're high. But HORRIBLE things happen as a result of their use of the drug.
I never claimed it was pro or anti drugs. But it clearly isn't sending a positive message about drug use. At least the drug used in the movie, which as you said is fictional.
Prof. Farnsworth: Oh. A lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm-My-Own-Grandpa!
The thing is the drugs don't really *beep* up their lives, the things they see are already there, so the world is *beep* up before they take it. by using drugs they're able to see it. and when the side effects wear off, they take more, so as not to be blind.
shareThe things had already been there before they took the drug. But their lives got MUCH worse after taking the drug. Nothing good happens in this movie as the result of taking the drug.

Any movie that shows drug use is pro drug to a drug user.
It's just like an anti-gambling ad campaign is pro gambling to those that have a gambling addiction.
When the CIA introduced LSD into wide circulation some people had bad trips, that didn't mean other people didn't take it, or that those that had had a bad trip didn't take it again.
Requiem for a dream: definitely NOT pro drug. Everything about that movie is utterly terrifying
shareWelcome to America, Comrade! Not being communist myself, I don't know what it was like in old country, but here, we don't ban films just because they're liberal hippie garbage. That's because we're not communists. Communists ban films that don't conform to the status quo. We don't.
Also, as many people have pointed out, this is most definitely NOT pro-drugs. David clearly doesn't want to take the drug, and once it's forced on him, his life completely falls apart. If you think about it, it's actually one of the most aggressive ANTI-drug messages this side of Reefer Madness.
Cross my heart, smack me dead, stick a lobster on my head.
Communists ban films that don't conform to the status quo.Obviously the entirety of your knowledge of communism comes from American anti-communist propaganda. What you said is similar to claiming that capitalists eat human flesh because there have been several (a surprisingly large number of) high-profile American cannibals.
That's because we're not communists. Communists ban films that don't conform to the status quo. We don't.Censorship is alive and well (and rampant) in North America. One example is how companies regularly block anybody who criticizes them from posting on their Facebook pages and delete anything that reflects negatively on them, even if the comments are polite and truthful.
Yes, I know that proper communism is a noble and well-intentioned ideal which has been so butchered by the higher-ups that it's essentially become a swear word. Just like everything else in life, the extremists had to come along and ruin it for everyone else. I have nothing against the ones who do it properly.
Yes, I know that the US is fond of censoring things, usually in the most humorously bizarre and ham-fisted way possible. The OP didn't say this movie should be censored; he said it and others like it should be banned outright, which, unless they contain pedophilia or snuff, we don't do.
And I apologize for the somewhat offensive tone of my previous post. Trying to be both funny and profound when you're halfway through your third glass of rum never sounds quite as funny or profound afterwards, does it? Sorry about that.
Cross my heart, smack me dead, stick a lobster on my head.
"Communism is about, well, community; it is after all right there in the name. Duh. It’s about sharing and equality and abhors greed."
Be honest. Even hippies aren't this naive. It's about control and serving the state. No ideology has killed more people than Communism.
You should try and exorcise that mass of negativity in your soul. I sincerely hope you get well. Peace and Light to You!
shareThey should ban conservative morons that can't interpret movies properly from the internet.
shareMrLabcat, think of all the hilarity we would miss out on if that were to come about!
share"They should ban conservative morons that can't interpret movies properly from the internet."
I'm torn on who is the more stupid; you or the moron the OP is pretending to be. He is what we on the internet call a "troll." You might want to write that term down--you'll see it far too often here at IMDb.
Liberal hippies? Goody. Those would be my peeps.
A liberal hippy, albeit long in the tooth? That would be me.
Meanwhile, bighalsy, go trolling somewhere else.
Typical one sided close minded OP who makes an unfounded claim and leaves the thread ignoring the counter points. Perhaps he's even been here, read the replies, but can't fathom anything to retort. Perhaps this comment will even bring him back to defend his immoral honor.
Maybe I'm just a liberal hippy ;)
Typical conservative douchebag trying to censor everything un-pc and missing the point entirely.
