I just watch the red band trailer and saw that this movie has rape in it and was wondering how bad that scene really is .I am so sick of Blanking movies that have to have rape in them just to sell the movie .It's BS and should not be aloud .I enjoy disaster movies and really wanted to see this but now I find out it has rape well I don't think I will make me sick
I have written to the so called MPAA and they never email me or called me back they just don't give a *beep* .
Rape happens. Deal with it. Watching it in a movie, or making a movie containing a rape scene, does not condone the detestable act.
Films sometimes depict rape because they have this thing called a camera that records moving pictures of things that really happen, either live, in the case of a documentary, or of a reenactment, as is the case with fiction.
To censor anything but the most reprehensible and disgusting images would impinge upon a filmmaker's freedom of speech. That is why rape scenes (except in pornographic films, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms) are "aloud".
P.S. It sounds like perhaps you shouldn't be allowed to watch red-band trailers, as you are not an "appropriate audience".
P.S.S. If the rape of one person makes you sick but you enjoy movies about scores, hundreds, or thousands of innocent people of all ages dying in horrific manners then maybe you need to do a little soul-searching.
I thought it was weak compared to a lot of rape scenes I have seen in movies. I am pretty immune though. I have been watching horror movies since I was in diapers so that's 35 years. Real vs Fake is what you have to ask yourself. This movie was fake, however, has issues that can and do happen in a quake. I liked how he boxed it all together in one group. Enjoy a fake movie based on actual events that occur during a disaster. Just think, criminals can do what ever they want when there is no emergency response team to help. Now sleep safe tonight...

There are stronger rape scenes on Animal Planet. Of course, if you think it's too controversial then by all means complain to whomever you think will listen.
Personally, I find the implication of your comment to be nothing more then an attempt to stifle freedom of expression because you dislike that particular content. I will therefore complain to the IMDb moderators to request you are banned from posting again. Of course, that won't happen, but the point is that people are allowed to express themselves in a way they desire so long as they do not break the law, regardless of what you or anybody else likes or dislikes.
That's a valuable lesson that most people are taught in school. I'd advise learning it before leaving.
Not even close to the brutal " I Spit on your Grave " scene. Frankly, I don't like that in movies because it depicts real life and rapists should be executed.
