'Who's next, RAMBO?'
This joke is SO weird, man... on so many levels. Why use it? Stallone's huge ego?
P.S. It also does totally sound like "rainbow" and not "rambo".

I own you.

HAHAHA! Yeah, that is one of the great lines/scenes!
Oh I travel, a sort of licenced troubleshooter.
That entire scene was forced and so unfunny. I'm all for them saying each other's lines or making references to previous films, but do it in context yeh? Arnie saying yippikiyai at that moment was ridiculous.

What felt weird is that the guy playing Rambo (Stallone) was IN THE MOVIE. It's fine referencing it like that ("I married Rambo"), but not the way it was done here.

Maybe Rambo in the Expendables "reality" was played by Steven Seagal? lol

I agree. This was the only joke in the movie that I was rolling my eyes at. Some others were dumb, but at least I could huff and say, "Yeah, I get it. Ha ha." I get this one, but it's just pointless, and yes, it's probably ego.
shareWhile I enjoyed them taking jabs at each other, I preferred them to be subtle; for instance Arnold remarking Barney likes playing in the jungle as a Rambo reference or playing the classic notes to the Terminator when Arnold returned. Saying the word “rambo” once wasn’t a big deal but I am hoping the series doesn’t become a series of name dropping.
shareMy take as well. A lot of the jokes in this movie are swing and a miss. But the Rambo one was so jarring and out of context it had no business being in the movie. Especially in the context of talking to Chuck Norris. A refernce to Bruce Lee, who shared iconic screen time with Chuck, would have been much more on point. And a nice nod to a dead star who couldn't join the fun.
shareSurely you can't be serious? And no, I'm not calling you Shirley. The fact that the guy who payed Rambo was in this movie was one of the reasons this joke was such fun. I love all the in-jokes in this movie: Lone Wolf, You've been back enough, I'll be back, if i don't get this back your a$$ is terminated.... this stuff is one of the things that made Expendables 2 the best in of the three. I can only hope Clint Eastwood will show up in number 4 - except that they won't be able to use the Good, Bad, Ugly theme to introduce him because I think they did that when Chuck walked into the chaos like he was on a summer seaside stroll. I loved it!
shareIt shakes me. It quakes me.
