Does Queer mean Gay?

The IMDb description says two queer students want to have sex. What does that even mean? If they're two men that want to have sex with each other, doesn't that make them gay? Is it offensive to call someone gay now, you have to use the word Queer?

Also if I'm not mistaken, Bottom means the guy who receives. But if they're both Bottoms, then how does that even work?

No. Queer means having unusual sexual preferences, not necessarily being gay. There is a distinction. As for the title...yes it's weird since "bottom" is used in gay sexual positions, but this movie is about 2 women, not men. The title is probably just because it's provocative and they knew it would rouse people's interest.
