Costner response to poor box-office performance

“I’ve faced life with people being dismissive of me, he said. “But they can’t be dismissive of ‘Horizon,’ because now it’s out of their hands.”

“And they might point to the finish line—well, this is what it did at the box office—but I know that this movie is going to play for the next 50 years,” Costner added.

The movie's theatrical run is over. $32 million on a $100 million budget

Maybe it was a dud due to his fake cowboy persona because in real life he's a liberal.

I started watching it and the first hour is pretty boring. thats prob why it failed. people might have been expecting something like Yellowstone as well...

What does that even mean?
“And they might point to the finish line—well, this is what it did at the box office—but I know that this movie is going to play for the next 50 years,” Costner added.

Is he delusional? This movie had some interesting story arcs, but it jumped from one to another, leaving them hanging. It became so incoherent, especially the ending five minutes or so which, I suppose, was fast forwarding through the remaining episodes. I'm surprised the studio hasn't just pulled the next segment, which is supposedly longer than the first.
