Biggest Flop In Kevin Costner Career
A 1997 action-adventure dystopian movie, produced and directed by Kevin Costner himself, The Postman follows a nomadic traveler known as the Postman (Kevin Costner), who wanders through the USA delivering old mail. In a world where life is bleak and people have lost faith in everything, the Postman rekindles people’s faith in the US government, while at the same time finding romantic love and clashing with a dictatorial general.
Although The Postman ran on an $80 million budget, it only made $20.8 million at the box office worldwide, leading to another flop for Costner. Critics destroyed the movie, and also criticized Costner’s decision to cast himself as the lead in The Postman. Though the movie didn’t win any sought-after awards, it did win five Golden Raspberry Awards, including a nomination for Worst Picture.
Horizon is expected to be an even bigger flop.
