Little things that made you laugh

The sign at the beach says

NO SWIMMING!!
Please

I laughed when both Norton and Willis jumped to defend Sam and blame Suzie for the stabbing. Just something about it was so cute.

And all the little things Sam did while they traveled.

There’s no one on IMDB I care enough for to use spell check- suck it grammar Nazis

That was awesome.

Ed Norton nailed that bit.

reply

That might be the only funny bit... damn this hipster movie is overrated

Loved when Scout Master Ward (Norton) asked Sam if he wanted to be a scout again and complimented him on his camp.

reply

When they discuss the marriage at the side of the trampolin...genius.

I know. I like the way they said in unison "that was the girl".

The little hole on the left side of the boy's tent that signified he had escaped.

reply

I laughed at that too! So very Shawshank Redemption!

"Listen very carefully. I shall say this only once."

reply

Haha yes, how all the maps were lined up, and then there was one obviously out of place, clearly covering something up. Great stuff.

reply

haha yea that was funny.

"He's a beautiful man and they are making him look like an old black lady who sells pancake syrup."

reply

the tent was zipped from the inside!! :O

reply

Escape hole in the tent covered by the map: homage to Shawshank. Terrific!

reply

I liked Norton's response to that revelation.

Something like: "jimminy cricket, he's flown the coop!"

The ear-piercing. Also, at the end the book she's reading is called "The Return of ________" (I forget the name the book said) after reading all those books about escaping.

reply

Great detail about the book title! I missed that.

reply

The fact that it was a raven that came up with the sun in the play!

Suzie kicking the crap out of the Scouts in the forest

reply

"Department of Inclement Weather". My 60-something husband kept chuckling about that after the movie.

reply

The kid jumping on the trampoline and when Sam, Suzy and Ben sail away on the boat the first time, and only one of the scouts raises his hand to say bye after a pause haha

reply

The level of details. "Suzie stabbed the scout with a pair of left handed scissors."

reply

Loved this film. I loved that line too about being lefty scissors too. I liked how when they were talking on the phone to everyone they shared whatever the flooring was. Like Social Services had a blue carpet and Bruce Willis's character has his feet crossed on it while Tilda's was perched there too. Shoe throw is good and the hole in the tent was classic. Sad but funny how both Norton's and Willis' characters reacted to the foster father's refusing to take Sam back. I forgot the phrasing but it was funny. And one not mentioned how the mom finally noticed her earrings and mentioned how it was fish hooks. I don't know why but that cracked me up.

The sight of Bill Murray charging towards the tent his daughter and the boy were shacked up in.

When Suzy & Sam zip the tent closed and her father just lifts the tent off of them instead :)
