A Real 70's flick
This is an impressive film with attention to detail.
You could replace the "2013" with 1973 and get away with it.

Having just seen the French Connection, I respectfully disagree. The atmosphere of the city just did not match at all. It was too clean, too bright. The French Connection really brought the dirtiness to life.
The second thing that really took me out of it was the dialog. Too many "f yous" while the values were a bit too PC.
Of course the above is my opinion - I wasn't living in New York in the early 70s.
