drones vs maverick

Seems like the film was trying to build up the whole drones are going to replace you old man

Totally should have had a drones vs maverick scene, let's see them keep up with a master of the air

A well made drone would make human pilots obsolete. Not needing to keep humans alive would allow drones to do moves that pull 20-40 g's - I'm not sure our tech is there yet - unless those UFO's peeps keep talking about are indeed beta testing of such drone tech.

Yes. But hacking drones brings new issues that fighters don't face, and russia us already hacking us drones

Also it is a movie, come on, it would be fun to let maverick win as he uses electronic warfare against the drone, supposedly jamming GPS signals make drones useless in the topgun universe

I'm still waiting for the experimental plane from Deal of the Century to become a reality.

I heard that was the premise of a script in development. For the suicide mission in this movie, why couldn't they just send in drones? Those aircraft would be way more efficient as they do not require all of the safety equipment and space for a human.

I heard that as a possible premise too, but it either flew too close to "Stealth" or perhaps "Stealth" was, itself, a reworked "Top Gun" sequel

I'm glad ... Man vs. Machine's done to death in my opinion (but I'd have said something similar about this film, and would've been dead wrong so ...)

I dunno, I have. a lot of faith in Tom Cruise these days, but then I think of "The Mummy" and remind myself that even monkeys fall outta trees

reply

That one general said that, but it is also very clear that remotely controlled planes could never complete that mission.
