G Forces

Please can someone explain why when they are pulling 4-5 G in the canyon run do they have faces like they are passing their biggest ever dump but Maverick is smiling and moving his head at 10 G?

Bonus question and spoiler, would you be able to eject at 10 G?

Apparently you can eject at Mach 10, so I'm going to go with yes. πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

And at that speed, no, not that speed, at Mach 3 SR-71 was so hot that plane expanded about 20 ~ 30cm longer.

At Mach 10 ejected Maverick would have been shredded by air like a roasted bird.

I am guessing Maverick wasn't actually doing 10 Gs, and yes, the ejection mechanism operates with enough force to send the pilot and the seat 200 to 300 feet up, so I would think it would be able to overcome an initial downward force of 10 Gs

If we're talking about the initial Mach 10 run ejection, that's not about g force, but sheer air force.
However, he was using scram jets at the altitude, so maybe there was very little of any air pressure to affect his ejection. Either way is just fun fiction where he survived at all, so we go with the fact he just got lucky
