Michael Jackson's Biopic Must Avoid Bohemian Rhapsody's Blinker Mistake

Bohemian Rhapsody avoided exploring the darker aspects of Freddie Mercury’s career. The upcoming Michael Jackson biopic can’t make the same mistake.

It depends what the ultimate goal of the film is.

If it's to explore the human side of Michael Jackson or to take a hard look at how the rich can get away with crimes in the modern world, then yes, they absolutely need to explore the darkest part of Jackson's dark side.

If the goal is to sell Jackson music, then they're going to completely skip over the dark side.

I actually hope they go with the second option selling the music. Actually it’s one of the things I enjoyed the most about Bohemian Rhapsody the focus on the music and making us feel like we got out of one great concert. Bohemian Rhapsody at the end left so pumped and energetic in the best way possible.

I want a Bon Jovi film in that style. They have such incredible songs which are so catchy and accessible to all tastes in music.
I even have the perfect casting to portray Jon Bon Jovi and that is Chris Hemsworth with the Mexican singer Juan Carlos Cano doing the singing part. Yes definitely Chris only doing the acting and lip singing while Cano behind the scenes does the songs.

He compited in the Voice Polland and also the Voice Mexico. He is crazy talented to do the singing part

If we're mining the popular music of that era for stories, I'd like the see a Fleetwood Mac miniseries, or a story about triumph and tragedy of the Bee Gees and their younger brother Andy Gibb!

Is the Whitney Houston movie any good?

reply

Im okay with the triumphs not so much the tragedy but I’m open with a Bee Gees Biopic though not my most exciting band to listen to.
When it comes to biopics not only music but biopics in general I prefer the super fun and uplifting ones.

My top 3 all Time favorite biopics are

1 Bohemian Rhapsody
2 Rush
3 Erin Brockovitch

That’s my tone on biopics : ultra fun and making you feel super pumped up at the end. I don’t like much sad ones or super dark.

So I really want a Bon Jovi biopic very much like Bohemian but now Bon Jovi’s music. There is much potential to make their music popular again with decent story and choosing their best songs. they could end the movie with it’s my life.

Actually it would be a wonderful title for the biopic : Its my Life.
Imagine listening to the talk Box sounds Richie makes on big speakers with Dolby Sound and the living on a Prayer course on super high volume. It would be insane in a good way obviously.

In the Whitney Houston film, I haven’t seen it but I’m really interested in it.

Does Bon Jovi have an interesting backstory, to give the music context?

Because that's what makes a good biopic, and BTW why I'm not very interested in seeing the Whitney Houston biopic. I too like a fun, inspirational, energizing biopic, and music doesn't hurt, although "Rush" was also great... and I know enough about Whitney Houston's backstory that I don't want to some of it play out.

Well there is an interesting story on You give love a Bad name since it’s a song dedicated to actress Diane Lane who flirting with Richie Sambora while she dating Jon.
