Just another ugly, scrawny, ADD loser kid getting raised by a single Mom with no father figure around to get him on the straight.

He wasn't even a smart nerdy future engineer type that would make alot of money some day. He would have been just another waste of teenaged youth like most of the kids out there today.

I don't think he's at all ugly and I found him really endearing. You realise that everyone else perceives things differently from you (and each other), right?

That is so off base. He is obviously supposed to be a smart kid. He is self reliant (emotionally), he's just introverted. He's the type girls marry -not the type girls desire, but the type girls want.

Not so much. Duncan's primary quality is being the (more) responsible person, the one who doesn't desire to harm others for greedy goals.

Most likely not. Rather, Duncan is withdrawn, lacking self-esteem, due to the frequent condemnation. An introvert can also be shy and depressed, however, those aren't the defining characteristic(s).

For example, when you're an introvert...
Being with people, even people they like and are comfortable with, can prevent them from their desire to be quietly introspective.

Females do oftentimes prefer the laid-back/mild/subdued type, though Duncan features a troublesome trait. Because he doesn't -- at least yet -- possess genuine self-confidence, Duncan's courage only appears once he breaches the frustration breaking point, which typically results in a severely bold, abrupt, possibly careless and uncontrolled behavior reminiscent of angry revenge.

Yeah, Duncan will grow up to be sensitive, empathetic and caring, the kind of guy women respond to...unfortunately, I don't hold out much hope for the OP...now there's a guy who probably will never get laid.

I think you've lost the whole meaning of the movie. The assumption is that Duncan has probably come out of that experience with an exponentially greater sense of self worth and confidence. He salvaged his first kiss nicely as she returned the favor, and all the kids in the water park warmed up to him. Hell, he even had a few pop and lock fan girls. That latter part was probably a bit unrealistic but I think he's well on his way to getting a first girlfriend. It won't be one of those vapid bimbos but beyond staring at their boobs I don't think he'd really be attracted to them anyway.

Sounds like you need to get laid. You're very tense. You're clearly very envious of him since you took to insulting him for no reason. Just relax, improve your attitude and maybe your miserable life will improve :)
